GLENDA MCNEAL, President, Strategic Partnerships-American Express, became the first Black woman to be appointed to the Executive Committee of American Express. Glenda joined the American Express company in 1989 and has since served in a series of increasingly responsible positions such as leading the formation and launch of the Global Client Group.
PAMELA PACKARD, President & CEO, Strategic Enterprises, LLC, contributed to and was quoted in “Future focused: governance developments on the COVID-19 journey,” a governance research study led by IWF Australia member, Karina Marcar. VALERIE PALEY, Senior Vice President, Chief Historian and Director for the Center for Women’s History, New York Historical Society is pleased to announce that the New York Historical Society is now offering outdoor programming. Hope Wanted takes place outdoors in New-York Historical’s rear courtyard, providing an open-air environment for visitors to view the exhibition and contemplate the impact of COVID-19 on New York City. Admission is free; access is limited and face coverings are required for entry, with social distancing enforced through timed-entry tickets and on-site safety measures. The exhibition also includes a quiet seating area, surrounded by plantings and conducive to reflection, where visitors can record their own experiences of the pandemic in an open-sided story booth. Syrett also appeared on CNBC’s primetime show “The Path Forward” multiple times over the past few months to offer advice to small business owners on adapting during the pandemic (some segment links: event business, dog walker, transportation). She was a Panelist at UBS’s and the Female Founder Collective’s Project Entrepreneur Capital Access Summit and a mentor to three female entrepreneurs in the Project Entrepreneur program. She served as a Judge for the finals of NYU’s $300k Entrepreneur Challenge. She moderated a panel on the Future of Investing at the Women & Worth ‘Power Forward’ Summit by Worth Media.

ILENE WACHS, President, Horizon Casualty Services, Inc., Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, was a panelist on the first ever KiwiTech Venture Fair on the topic of HEALTHTECH with over 350 attendees including venture capitalists, business executives and entrepreneurs in the healthcare space. KiwiTech has a portfolio of over 300 companies.
MELINDA WHITE, CEO, Transit Wireless, is pleased to share that Transit Wireless is a part of a major technological advancement for NYC and it’s commuters. In a press release, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced: the L Line East River Tunnel is the first with full cellular connectivity in New York. The MTA and New York-based company, Transit Wireless, has launched full connectivity so that AT&T customers are now able to use their phones and other devices between 1st Avenue and Bedford Avenue on the L line, making this under-river tunnel the first in the New York City Subway to receive cellular connectivity. Melinda was quoted as saying, “Transit Wireless is excited to expand its partnership with MTA. Wireless connectivity in the Canarsie Tunnel is another example of MTA’s commitment to improve the rider experience, while laying the foundation for future 5G services.”
